The City Palace Museum is one of the best museums in Jaipur for history lovers. One interesting aspect to this is that the other half of the palace is still a residence of the royal family. The entire palace complex has various sections of the royal residence like Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Pritam Niwas Chowk, Diwan-e- Aam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Maharani palace and many more.

The Mubarak Mahal built in the 19th century has several influences from the Mughal, Rajput and European styles of architecture. The Chandra Mahal's ground floor has been opened for the public and has been converted into an art museum and has paintings, old photographs and mirror work on display Other galleries of the museum include Sabha Niwas, Textile . Gallery, Sileh Gallery (arms and armour gallery), painting and photography gallery, and the transport gallery.

The City Palace is a perfect example of the 19th century art and architecture.
